Cold drawing schedules for RSt 34-2 (1.0034) steel wire for correction of overheating defects and breakless ensuring

The paper’s authors researched the defects correction for RSt 34-2 (1.0034) steel wire, obtained as result of its overheating at 1140...1160 °C. Instead re-heat treatment method, proposed five cold drawing, annealing and combination schedules, which ensure increase in strength to DIN EN ISO 6892-1-2020 requirements. experiments were performed on 4 mm diameter wire with increased grain size (up 70 μm). It was found that low initial values material’s ultimate yield there are frequent breaks ends clamping by tongs. An equation allows predict acceptable cross-sectional area end sections during drawing has been devised. inequation relating Korber-Eichinger parameters sharpened sizes reduced due tongs jaws deepening after work out. experimentally proved overheated process designing taking into account conditions this guarantees elimination both (at beginning) stable stage. processes have developed eliminated additional heat operation correction.
